Two new classes join the list of healthy lifestyle programs being offered by Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Jefferson Regional Wellness Center in Pleasant Hills.
Drop 10 in 10 is a 10-week guided weight management program designed to help participants lose 10 pounds or 10 percent of their body weight through a program of balanced nutrition, sensible activity and meaningful lifestyle changes. The 10-week program begins Feb. 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The fee is $16 for Highmark members (for program materials) and $101 for non-Highmark members (class fee and program materials).
The Spectrum is a new six-week Dean Ornish class that offers choices along a continuum of physical, mental and spiritual health. The class, which begins March 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., focuses on exercise, nutrition, stress management and group support. There is no charge for Highmark members; non-Highmark members are charged a $260 fee.
Also being offered in March at the Wellness Center is a new session of Eat Well for Life II, March 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This is a four-week lifestyle improvement program that helps participants acquire a new taste for better eating and wellness. It is a continuation of Eat Well for Life I, which also is offered at the Wellness Center.
Discover Relaxation Within II, a four-week lifestyle improvement program, starts March 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m. This program is free for Highmark insurance members; $65 for non-Highmark members. Personal Nutrition Coaching, which is individualized nutritional counseling with a registered dietitian, also is offered free for Highmark members or $60 for non-Highmark members.
